3 · Choosing the Right Size — practical guidance for clay shooters

Measure over your shooting shirt — not over bare skin. The vest is worn over a light layer, and that is how this block is cut.

Chest is the deciding measurement — select on chest first, then check waist. Between two sizes, take the larger.

Check the patch, not just the size — the reinforced patch must cover the shoulder pocket where the stock seats, with the arm raised to mount.

Hem should clear the belt — the vest must sit above a cartridge belt so it never catches during a fast second shot.

Test the mount, not the mirror — raise the gun to the shoulder: no pulling across the back and no fabric bunching at the pocket.

Order a size set for retail — for a first production run we recommend a graded size set so your own team can confirm the fit before bulk.

Men's fit note. The competition block is cut close through the chest and shoulder so the stock seats cleanly on the shoulder pocket with no fabric bunching. The reinforced shooting patch is placed on the strong-side shoulder — specify right- or left-handed (or both, split across the size run) with your order. Shell-pocket depth, patch size and hem length are all adjustable to your specification.

6 · Measurement Guide — applies to both men's and ladies' vests

½ Chest — vest flat & closed; measure straight across 2.5 cm below the armhole.

½ Waist — straight across the narrowest point of the body, laid flat.

Back Length — centre-back neck seam straight down to the finished hem.

Shoulder — seam-point to seam-point straight across the upper back.

Armhole — measured along the curve, from shoulder point to underarm seam.

Front Length — from the highest shoulder point straight down to the front hem.

Notes for your production file. Body measurements describe the wearer; garment measurements describe the finished vest laid flat, with competition ease already included. Tolerance ±1.5 cm per point. Ladies' vests are cut on a separate block — not a scaled men's pattern — with bust shaping, a contoured armhole and a shorter back rise. Fit, grading, patch placement, pocket configuration and hem length are all adjustable to your own spec, or graded from a reference garment you supply. A sealed size-set sample is approved by you before bulk production begins.
