Blaze orange is a fabric problem,
not a colour choice

It is fluorescent, not just bright

Hunter orange works because fluorescent dye converts ultraviolet light into visible light, which is why it appears to glow at first and last light when ordinary orange goes flat. You cannot reach it by mixing a normal orange pigment — it is a specific dye class, and specifying it correctly is the whole job.

Fluorescent dyes fade first

They are inherently less lightfast than conventional dyes, so a badly specified blaze garment looks tired after one season and takes your brand's reputation with it. We put blaze panels in polyester wherever performance allows, because fluorescent dye bonds far better to polyester than to cotton.

Screens lie about fluorescents

Fluorescent shades photograph and display differently from how they look in daylight. Approve a physical lab dip, never a screen image — this matters far more on blaze than on any ordinary colour, and it is where most first-time blaze programmes go wrong.

The rules your customers have to meet

Blaze orange is not a styling decision for the end user — in much of the United States it is a legal requirement during firearms seasons. Many states set a minimum area of visible hunter orange, commonly expressed in square inches, often requiring it above the waist and visible from all directions. Several also specify whether orange camouflage patterns count toward that area.

We will not tell you a garment is "state legal". Requirements differ by state, species and season, and they change. What we will do is build to whatever coverage figure you specify, document the actual blaze area on the finished garment, and flag it if a design looks likely to fall short of common requirements. Confirm the current rule with each state wildlife agency for the markets you sell into, then send us the number — we will hit it.

What is the difference between blaze orange and normal orange?
Blaze orange (also called hunter orange) is a fluorescent colour, not simply a bright one. Whether a blaze camo pattern satisfies a given state's requirement is a legal question that varies by state, so we recommend brands verify before marketing a garment as compliant.
What is the minimum order for blaze orange hunting apparel?

Can you match a specific blaze orange Pantone reference?
Yes on bulk orders. Send your Pantone reference and we will match it in the fluorescent dye range and send a lab dip for approval before production. Note that fluorescent shades photograph and print differently from how they look in daylight, so approving a physical swatch rather than a screen image matters more here than with ordinary colours.
