Membrane / Waterproof
A face fabric with a waterproof-breathable membrane laminated behind it, finished with a DWR on the outside and taped seams on the garment. The membrane is what stops water under sustained pressure; the DWR only stops the face wetting out.
Works well for
- Waterfowl and any hunt with sustained water contact
- Late-season shells worn over insulation
- Markets where rain is the defining condition
Not the right choice for
- High-output walking hunts — it traps heat unless well vented
- Stand hunting where fabric noise matters, unless the face is brushed
